Khetoi Village Union Dimapur (KVUD) celebrated silver jubilee here Saturday, at NEZCC stone garden, 3rd milestone Dimapur with PHED minister Jacob Zhimomi as guest speaker.
The jubilee was celebrated under the theme " Uniting for progress".
Speaking at the programme, Jacob Speaking at the program, Jacob extended jubilee greetings, highlighting the significance of this milestone. Reflecting on the journey, he acknowledged the move from the village to settle in Dimapur 24 years ago, driven by the pursuit of various ventures.
He emphasized the importance of recognizing and honoring the immense contributions of our ancestors, whose efforts have paved the way for the present. Jacob also noted how God's blessings have been instrumental in guiding and sustaining the community throughout this journey.
He called for greater cooperation, not just within our own community, but also with others. He stressed the need for unity and collaboration, fostering a spirit of mutual respect and understanding to build a stronger and more inclusive society.
He emphasized that social issues go beyond drug and alcohol abuse, highlighting the presence of numerous other challenges. He urged graduates to step out of their comfort zones and not solely focus on government jobs. Instead, he encouraged them to explore the many available startup programs and entrepreneurial opportunities.
Using Japan as an example, he pointed out that individuals there largely rely on the private sector and prioritize organic products and cultivation. He stressed that Nagaland has significant demand for agricultural products but lacks adequate production, calling for greater focus on agriculture to foster self-sufficiency and economic sustainability.
He also noted that Nagaland has the highest unemployment rate in the country, with the government unable to address the issue entirely. Furthermore, he mentioned banks' concerns about non-repayment of loans, urging responsible financial practices and a shift toward self-reliant economic development. Highlits of the event include release of the souvenir release by KVUD founding president Akito Zhimomi and dedicated by Hukavi Baptist Church pastor Kughahoto I Awomi.
At the programme significance of the celebration was proposed by Silver Jubilee Planning Committee (SJPC) convenor Er Huskha Yepthomi, blessing prayer was proposed by Khetoi Baptist Akukuhou pastor reverend Henito Awomi.
